The
Christmas Box Angel of Hope
Children's Memorial
Stow,
Ohio |
A
beautiful replica of The Christmas Box Angel of
Hope, inspired by the book The Christmas Box stands in a serene
setting in Silver Springs Cemetery. The Christmas Box, became
a best selling book which lovingly told of a mother’s grief and
eventual solace over the loss of her child. The Christmas Box Angel
of Hope was created by the author, Richard
Paul Evans, and was first built in Salt Lake City. It has become
a truly meaningful memorial to children all over the world.
Due to the incredible passion and work of a group of dedicated bereaved
parents, the Angel was brought to Stow, Ohio in 2001. The Christmas
Box Angel of Hope Children’s Memorial is a peaceful place for
grieving parents whose children have died, before or after birth, to
mourn, heal, and remember their beloved children. It has also given
parents, family, and friends an opportunity to connect with one another
and share their grief as they visit the memorial.
Memorial
Bricks
To honor our children’s memories, memorial bricks are being placed
the Angel of Hope.
They
are loving tributes from parents, grandparents, and other loved ones
to the memory of a child and have become a permanent part of the memorial.
Bricks are sold throughout the year at a cost of $100 for a three line
brick. Orders must be received by February 15 for Spring placement and
July 15 for Fall placement. Two beautiful brick laying dedication ceremonies
are held each year in the Spring and Fall. Anyone interested in purchasing
a brick may click here to download
a brick order or contact Sara Ruble at 330-689-1089
or email us at stowangelofhope@aol.com
Annual
Candle Lighting Ceremony
Every December, on the second Sunday at 5:00, an annual Candle Lighting
Ceremony is held at the Christmas Box Angel of Hope. This very moving
ceremony is a special time to remember and honor our children as the
holidays approach. Thousands of other bereaved parents around the world
honor their children by lighting candles on this day also, as it has
been designated as the Worldwide Candle Lighting in memory of all children
who died too soon. If you have purchased a brick, you will receive an
invitation to this beautiful event. However, family and friends, as
well as the general public are welcome to attend. Those attending are
invited to bring flowers to lay at the base of the Angel. We encourage
you to dress warmly.
